TRSKOVAČA POND – Platičevo

TRSKOVAČA POND – Platičevo

The Trskovača Pond area is designated as a protected natural habitat and is classified as a Category III protected natural asset. It is located in the municipality of Ruma, in the immediate vicinity of the village of Platičevo, and covers an area of approximately 168 hectares.

Trskovača Pond was placed under protection in order to preserve natural spawning grounds for rare native fish species such as tench and crucian carp, as well as habitats of characteristic wetland ecosystems and marsh vegetation found on floodplains (reed beds, bulrushes, sedges, and groups of marsh willow). The protection also aims to support the preservation and restoration of natural habitats of wild plant and animal species. The area includes protection regimes of levels II and III. The Level II protection zone covers about 43 hectares, while the Level III protection zone covers approximately 125 hectares.

Boating along the canals, resting at the viewpoint with a panoramic view extending to the surrounding forests, and gentle walks along marked trails around the pond are just some of the unforgettable activities you can enjoy when visiting this natural monument.
