JAM

JAM

JAM – Half a century ago each Vojvodina pantry had jam in it. This magical product that is gracing store shelves, cupboards and cabinets of guest rooms, was synonymous with the need for a sweet bite. It is made so that the fresh fruit, usually plums and apricots, is cooked with sugar and when it becomes a thick mass, it is poured into the jar, cellophane closed and tied with plaid printed paper or cloth, and – kept for the winter. Jam is spread on bread slice and it has been so used for centuries, but it is also used for cookies and other treats.
