JAN ČAPELA ETHNO HOUSE – Selenča
Početna / Experiences / JAN ČAPELA ETHNO HOUSE – Selenča
Built in 1914, this house has since been transformed into a Slovak ethno-house. The owner, Jan Čapelja, inherited it from his family, and it was originally built by his great-grandfather. The rooms are richly furnished with authentic antique furniture and household items. The wardrobes display examples of the rich traditional Slovak folk costumes from Selenca.
What makes this house particularly distinctive is its predominant blue color, which is a traditional symbol of Slovak culture. In the courtyard and the farm section of the property, visitors can see various tools and objects once used for agricultural work as well as everyday life.
In addition to touring the house itself, guests also have the opportunity to purchase homemade local products.
