BAKAJIN GALLERY–ATELIER

BAKAJIN GALLERY–ATELIER

The Bakajin Gallery-Atelier is located in the small town of Sremski Karlovci, the center of the Srem Diocese, surrounded by around thirteen monasteries of the Fruška Gora region. It is home to the “Orfelin” Association of Visual Artists.

The gallery consists of three rooms displaying the works of Milivoj Bakajin, a member of the Association of Visual Artists of Vojvodina and president of the “Orfelin” Association. The permanent exhibition includes around 150 artworks.

Art critics have described this exhibition as possessing a profound spiritual dimension with a strong authentic expression, reflecting continuity over a fifty-year period.

In addition to the permanent exhibition, the courtyard area of the gallery is intended for exhibitions by artists selected by the “Orfelin” Association’s selection committee.

The courtyard gallery space can accommodate around one hundred artworks, and there is also the possibility of organizing thematic lectures. A conference on tourism and art would be especially beneficial.

The courtyard is situated in a beautiful natural setting overlooking the Danube River and also includes an area where visitors can refresh themselves with fine wines from Sremski Karlovci and taste the local sweet specialty, kuglof.
