The Municipality of Pećinci is located in south-eastern Srem, along the Sava River and the Belgrade–Zagreb motorway, providing excellent transport connections and easy access. Its best-known tourist attraction is the Obedska Bara Special Nature Reserve, one of the oldest protected natural areas in Europe, renowned for its exceptional flora and fauna and opportunities for birdwatching, boating and enjoying the great outdoors. Lovers of active holidays can enjoy fishing, hunting and recreation in this well-preserved natural environment. Kupinovo holds a special place in the cultural and historical heritage of the area. Once the capital of the Serbian despots, it is home to the remains of the mediaeval Kupinik Fortress and the Church of St Luke. The rich history of the area, intertwined with its natural beauty, makes Pećinci an appealing destination for lovers of culture and history. Thanks to its proximity to Belgrade and Nikola Tesla Airport, the municipality is an excellent starting point for exploring Srem.
