Stara Pazova is located in south-eastern Srem, between Belgrade and Novi Sad, in an exceptionally favourable transport position, with connections to Serbia’s most important roads and railway routes. The municipality comprises nine settlements, including Stara and Nova Pazova, Novi Banovci, Golubinci, Vojka, Stari Banovci, Belegiš, Surduk and Krnješevci, and is characterised by pronounced multiculturalism, with a particularly strong Slovak community. The proximity of the Danube and Fruška Gora, together with the attractive riverside landscapes, offers excellent opportunities for day trips, recreation and spending time in nature. The vineyards and winemaking tradition are of particular tourist value, linked to the area’s distinctive position along the 45th parallel. Stara Pazova is also known for its well-developed entrepreneurship, skilled trades and economy, which have been among its most important defining features for decades. The municipality’s cultural diversity is further reflected in its Orthodox, Catholic and Evangelical churches, as well as in the traditions and customs of its various ethnic communities. Thanks to the combination of its favourable location, the Danube, Fruška Gora, vineyards, cultural heritage and well-developed infrastructure, Stara Pazova represents an appealing destination for short trips, active holidays and discovering the multicultural character of Srem.
