”PROVALA” LAKE – Vajska

”PROVALA” LAKE – Vajska

Located 14 km from Bač and 1 km from the settlement of Vajska, Provala Lake was formed in 1926 when the Danube breached an embankment and flooded the surrounding area. This event gave the lake its name. Most of the lake is between two and five metres deep, while its maximum depth reaches 19 metres, making it the deepest lake in Vojvodina.

Sections of the lake with sandy shores have been transformed into a beautifully landscaped beach, which becomes a popular bathing spot during the summer months, as well as a place for rest and relaxation for local residents and visitors and tourists travelling to the Municipality of Bač from other towns and cities.

The beach is equipped with parasols, sun loungers, changing cabins, showers, toilets, benches and tables. Visitors can also enjoy a range of sports and recreational facilities, including children’s playgrounds and a camping area. The lake complex also features a modern restaurant where visitors can enjoy refreshments and a selection of local and international specialities.

Please note: There is no lifeguard service at the lake, and swimming is at your own risk.
