TWO DAY NATURE EXCURSION – BY BIKE – Vršac

    Friday

    • Arrival in Vršac in the afternoon or early evening.
    • Accommodation.
    • Meeting with the guide and introduction to the route. Bicycle safety check.
    • Free time.
    • Overnight stay.

    Saturday

    • Breakfast.
    • Departure from the hotel at 10:00 AM.
    • Cycling along rural roads through the vineyards at the foothills of the Vršac Mountains (highest peak: 641 m). The route includes a combination of flat terrain and climbs (average gradient 5%), quiet paved roads with low traffic (23 km) and forest trails (4 km). The first section includes a ride through the vineyards and an ascent to the Church of the Holy Cross, dating back to 1720. Visit to the city viewpoint. Visit to the Extreme Sports Club.
    • Free time for climbing and abseiling activities.
    • Coffee break.
    • Departure for a visit to the 15th-century Vršac Tower. The tower is the city’s iconic landmark, offering magnificent panoramic views of the Vojvodina Plain and, in clear weather, even the Danube River. Cycling along forest trails to the Mountain Lodge.
    • Visit to the Mountain Lodge, located at the 11th kilometre of the route, planned as a rest stop.
    • Picnic break (packed lunch). Optional lunch at the Mountain Lodge – goulash or game barbecue. Cycling through forests and vineyards to the 13th-century Mesić Monastery.
    • Visit to the monastery. On the return ride to Vršac, a short stop at the Mesić mineral spring.
    • Return to Vršac at 5:00 PM.
    • Dinner at the hotel. Presentation of the programme for the final day of the tour.
    • Free time.
    • Overnight stay.

    Sunday

    • Breakfast.
    • Departure from the hotel at 10:00 AM. The route includes flat terrain and climbs (average gradient 9%), quiet paved roads (20 km) and forest trails (16 km). Cycling to the village of Malo Središte through vineyards on the slopes of the Vršac Mountains.
    • The first section includes a visit to the 15th-century Malo Središte Monastery, located at the 12th kilometre of the route. Tasting of the local spring water, believed by local residents to have healing properties. Ascent to Gudurički Vrh (641 m), the highest peak of the Vršac Mountains.
    • The second section includes a picnic (packed lunch) at the summit. Organised games and archery while enjoying spectacular panoramic views of the region.
    • An exciting descent along forest trails on the return to Vršac. Visit to the Mountain Lodge. Cycling through parts of the Vršac Mountains protected as a third-degree protected natural area. Birdwatching.
    • Cycling past natural springs along sections of the route.
    • Departure to the Crveni Krst Recreation Centre.
    • Departure from the viewpoint.
    • Visit to the Church of Saint Theodore.
    • Return to Vršac.
    • Dinner and overnight stay.
