VINARIUM WINERY – Banoštor

VINARIUM WINERY – Banoštor

Vinarium is a relatively young winery, established in 2009. It is located in the Srem village of Banoštor, one of the oldest settlements in the region, where grape growing has a long-standing tradition dating back to the Roman Empire.

At that time, Bononia Malata (present-day Banoštor) held an important position at the crossroads of the Empire’s Danube trade routes. In the 3rd century AD, the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius Probus made a significant contribution to the development of viticulture in this area, laying the foundations for its continued growth.

Vinarium currently has 26 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards. Situated next to Fruška Gora National Park and between two streams, the vineyards benefit from good air circulation, refreshing breezes and plenty of sunshine. These conditions are reflected in the colour and terroir of the wines, which express not only the character of Fruška Gora, but also the distinctive qualities of these particular vineyard sites, their soils and the influence of the Danube. Župljanka, Sauvignon Blanc, Black Muscat, Merlot, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir are just some of the grape varieties grown here.

The winery has two wine cellars and two tasting rooms, equipped for wine tastings, business lunches, celebrations and team-building events. The smaller private tasting room accommodates up to 10 guests, while the second room can host up to 50 people.

The winery organises tastings of two to five wine labels, accompanied by platters of locally produced cured meats and goat’s cheeses from Banoštor and the surrounding area. Visits must be arranged in advance. Wine tours, including lunch and a guided tour of the vineyards, can also be organised for groups of at least five people.

With its beautiful vineyards, professional expertise and high-quality wines, Vinarium is an ideal destination for travellers seeking memorable wine experiences.
