MUSEUM OF OLD MACHINES “ŽERAVICA” – Novo Miloševo

MUSEUM OF OLD MACHINES “ŽERAVICA” – Novo Miloševo

It all began in the late 1970s with Milivoj Žeravica (1931–2009) and his idea to acquire a 1924 Fordson 10-20 HP tractor, like the one his father, Milorad (1909–1968), owned—one of the first in the village, around which he grew up. At that time, owning a tractor in the countryside was a rarity and a real attraction.

By chance, he learned from a friend that a similar tractor existed near Kragujevac. He went to see it and was surprised to find several other tractors from that era. At that moment, he decided to buy them all, in a way saving them from disappearing from the region.

Initially, it was a small collection of a few tractors, temporarily housed in an old barn. The collection reached the level of a distinguished museum, unique in Serbia, thanks to his son Čedomir. All tractors were collected domestically, which adds to their value.

The tractors were publicly exhibited in 1991 in a purpose-built museum building. At the center of the collection is the oldest preserved tractor in Serbia and the wider region, the American “Hart-Parr 30” from 1920. The collection also includes numerous examples from the interwar and postwar periods, produced in European and American factories
