MIHAJLO IDVORSKI PUPIN MEMORIAL COMPLEX – Idvor

The Mihajlo Pupin Memorial Complex in Idvor operates within the “Mihajlo Pupin” Cultural Center and consists of: the birthplace of Mihajlo Pupin, the old school building, the National Home of Mihajlo I. Pupin (his endowment), and the cultural center building, which houses the permanent exhibition.

The memorial complex was opened in 1979, founded by the Municipality of Kovačica. The birthplace dates back to the first half of the 19th century, the old school was built in 1843, the National Home in 1935, and the cultural center in 1979.

The birthplace contains an exhibition from the National Museum in Pančevo, featuring mid-19th-century objects used in Banat homes. The old school, currently closed to visitors, houses a 1979 exhibition about Mihajlo Pupin, presented by the Museum of Vojvodina. The National Home and Cultural Center feature an exhibition dedicated to Pupin, which tourists can visit. This exhibition includes several displays created by Matica Srpska, Aleksandra Ninković Tašić, the Historical Museum of Serbia, and Dr. Dragoljub Cucić.

Visiting hours:

Weekdays: 09:00–16:00

Weekends: 10:00–15:00

(Advance notice is recommended. The tour lasts about one hour, so visitors should arrive at least 1 hour before closing time.)
