“LAZAR VOZAREVIĆ” GALLERY – Sremska Mitrovica

“LAZAR VOZAREVIĆ” GALLERY – Sremska Mitrovica

The “Lazar Vozarević” Memorial Gallery (1925–1968) was opened in November 1973 in the premises of the former Srem Gallery, part of the building of the old Serbian National School. The permanent exhibition displays over fifty works—oils, drawings, and collages—created between 1954 and 1968 by this early-deceased artist of the first postwar generation, who was, among other affiliations, a member of the artistic groups “Jedanaestorica” and “Decembarska grupa.”

In addition to the permanent exhibition, the gallery organizes occasional exhibitions in contemporary art and architecture, including the “Sremska Mitrovica Salon” of contemporary visual and applied arts of Vojvodina, the “Srem Art Salon,” and the “Lazar Vozarević Art Colony.” The gallery also publishes catalogs that chronologically document developments in applied arts and architecture in the Vojvodina region (1970–1990).
