FISHING AT ZMAJEVO LAKES

The complex in Zmajevo consists of three water surfaces : Big Yellow Lake, Lime Lake and the feeding –point. On the left side of Jegrička is fenced Large Blue Lake, but it is a private property and not available for fishermen. Each of them has its own peculiarities and charm, and the most attractive for fishermen is Big Yellow Lake, covering the area of six hectares and average depth of 1.80 meters. These areas managed by the Association of sport fishermen “Jegrička” have all top quality of sport’s water. This pearl of North Bačka county is characterized by the richness of the fish stock, well maintained fishing places and unspoiled nature, which have over the years been the main reasons to be frequent target of sport fishermen and athletes who want to catch the giant specimens.

The lake is open a year-round, and fishing from shore is planned. A particular advantage is the possibility of night fishing up to four rods and hooks with a counter hook are supposed to be used. There are 12 platforms for the carp fishing competition and 19 carp fishing positions situated on a neatly arranged shore.

The rule of “catch and release” here is strictly respected, meaning that no one can carry the catch, regardless of the type of fish and its size.

Both individual and team competition of the “Carp Cup Zmajevo” is held here, and thanks to beautifully arranged landscaped visitors and vacationers as well as families with children and young people are frequent at these lakes.
