HUNTING GROUND “ČOT” – Beočin

Hunting ground Čot, which covers 12,085 hectares, is located in the cadastral municipalities Rakovac, Beočin, Čerević, Banoštor, Sviloš, Grabovo, Susak and Lug or from half way of the Danube via the aforementioned cadastral municipalities to the border with the National Park Fruška Gora. Each of these settlements in the Beočin municipality has its own hunting section and they make the municipal association of hunters “Srndać” from Beočin which was formed in 1991. History says that hunting in the Beočin municipality dates back to 1920, the founders were hunters from Rakovc and Čerević.
In the area of hunting grounds Čot regarding big game, deer, roe deer and fawn are hunted. Wild boar, sow gilt rabbit, pheasant and wild duck and goose, partridge are also hunted but quail are hunted less. From predators or pests foxes and jackals are hunted. During the first weekend in February hunters from Beočin organize traditional event “Hunting jackal and fox.”
