CHARDA “ANDRIĆ” – Sombor

Although it is not situated on the bank of the Danube, Carda (Tavern) “Andric” belongs to the Danube ambiance by its characteristics. It is located in Sombor, 25 km from Bezdan (by the Great Backa Canal), and approximately 10 km from Apatin by road. Only fish dishes are served in this Carda; the specialties made of river fish prevail, but sea fish dishes are also offered to the gourmets.

Fish stew is the main course that the staff prepares with particular pleasure and it is the reason why the guests come to Carda most often. For the last couple of years, during the existence of Carda, its fish stew has achieved great renown for which even the most famous Cardas from Bezdan and Apatin can envy it.

For the citizens of Sombor, who like fish stew and fries fish, Carda “Andric” has soon become their Sombor’s Carda situated on the Great Backa Canal that is a “substitute“ for the Danube in this town. It has become a custom that important politicians, actors, businessmen, and other guests from the country and abroad call on this place for its fish specialties during their stay in Sombor. Already the first impression about Carda, that visitors get when they enter its yard, confirms that this is a pleasant place for lunch or dinner and for good entertainment.

The wreaths of paprika, kettles for cooking fish stew, and the pleasant aroma of this dish welcome the guests. They feel particularly pleasant in the garden that is situated on the bank of the Canal, namely, in its ambiance of water and green. The walls and the floor of an interior are covered with bricks and there is a huge stove that heats a hall. The modern bar, decorated with lavish glasses and bottles of top-class beverages, gives a special note to this well-appointed ambiance.

Unlike any other carda, besides the excellent food, Carda “Andric” offers a huge variety of exquisite French, Italian and domestic wines, which are warmly recommended with fish dishes. Carda has a hall with 50 seats, as well as, a terrace. There is also a car park for 20 vehicles and a marina for boats.

Tamburitza bands play on Fridays and Saturdays.
