CRNA BARA – Kovin

CRNA BARA – Kovin

Crna Bara is located north-east of Kovin and is one of the oldest artificial lakes in Vojvodina. A large natural island of reeds and bulrushes occupies part of the lake (marsh), physically dividing it into two sections. The smaller section, located behind the island, is more accessible for fishing. The water is shallow and rich in vegetation, with submerged aquatic plants and water lilies growing rapidly throughout spring and summer. This makes fishing particularly challenging, as the area also serves as a fish spawning ground.

Recreational fishing is permitted with a valid fishing licence.

Situated on the edge of the Deliblato Sands Special Nature Reserve, Crna Bara is an important habitat for wetland birds and forms part of the ecological corridor of southern Banat.
