CHARDA “KOD CARINE” – Bezdan

CHARDA “KOD CARINE” – Bezdan

Carda (Tavern) “Kod carine” (At Customs’) is located near the Customs Office in Bezdan, and thus, it was named after it. Carda is situated in a sheltered place on the left bank of the Danube, near the bridge between Bezdan and Batina (a town in Croatia). For the purposes of the accommodation and nutrition of the constructors of the bridge, a cottage was built 25 years ago.

Later on, it was turned into Carda. A fire had destroyed the original building, instead of which a new one was built. A thatched canopy and the mulberry tree, under which a famous fish stew á la Bezdan is cooked, have remained so far. Carda is alluring; the bank of the Danube, discrete beach, and the vast green have been attracting regular guests for years, and, occasionally, numerous young couples eager for romance and pleasant moments. Although Carda is situated near the Customs Office, this is a customs-free place.

The guests can relax in beautiful nature and enjoy in tempting taste of fish specialties. Carda has lately become famous for competition in cooking rooster stew, which is organized in August with the participation of hundreds of guests. Stew made of farm roosters can be ordered in advance all year long. Also, the performance of the tamburitza band has to be prearranged.

Carda has a capacity of 80 seats altogether. There is also a car park for 30 vehicles and moorings for boats. Payment can be arranged by Visa Card.
