NATIONAL MUSEUM – Bela Crkva

NATIONAL MUSEUM – Bela Crkva

The museum in Bela Crkva is considered the oldest museum institution in the territory of Vojvodina, as it was founded by a decision of the Bela Crkva Magistrate in 1877. The permanent exhibition has existed since 1954, when the museum was moved to its current location. Today, the museum operates as part of the National Library of Bela Crkva, functioning as one of its organizational units, and preserves around 2,000 cultural assets distributed across 11 collections, making it a complex-type museum.

The exhibition presents visitors with the history of the town, illustrated through items from nearly all collections. Among the exhibits, particular emphasis is placed on materials related to the period of the Banat Military Frontier, as well as items directly connected to Russian emigration. The collections mainly preserve objects related to the local area of Bela Crkva and its surroundings.

Displayed are archaeological artifacts from the Neolithic period to the Middle Ages, items from historical collections of the 18th and 19th centuries, objects from a 19th-century Banat household, paintings from Bela Crkva dating from the 19th and 20th centuries, and exhibits from the natural history collection.

The museum also has its own YouTube channel:
