THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH OF ST. CATHERINE – Sot

In the village Sot, on the roots of Fruška Gora, about ten kilometers north – east from Šid, was built, at the end of the first half of XVIII century, the Roman Catholic Church dedicated to St. Catherine. The time of the building is also determined and represented by the patron of the temple with the wheel, the symbol of saint`s martyr, and was painted in 1747. in the baroque style. As one of the oldest sacral objects in Srem, the building had some reparations and adding onto during the two centuries existence.
