WINERY ŽIVANOVIĆ – Sremski Karlovci

According to the recipes of their ancestors, the Živanović family even today makes well known, special sorts of wine, Ausbruh and Bermet, which have after a short time of restored production won many awards (Bermet made by Živanović has been the winner of the gold medal at Novi Sad Fair in 2003, and also the winner of the gold medal for quality in the class of dessert wines at the First International Competition of Wines, which was organized by Sommelier Association of Serbia, at Hotel Hayat in 2004). Apart from their famous wines in their offer the Živanović family also have: Italian Riesling, Rhine Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Probus, Honey Brandy, Grape Brandy and Apricot Brandy. Within the family household, two wine cellars were put into use again. The old cellar, built in the 18th century, was dug deep into the hill, and this is where the production and the preservation of wine are done. The other cellar covers the area of 140m2 and has the capacity to accept 80 people. In this cellar testing of wine, brandy and honey are organized, with the “sremački fruštuk” (typical breakfast in Srem) with domestic village specialities.
