THE SPORTS CENTRE “JEZERO” – Kikinda

Existing natural wealth of the complex offered compensative solution so one part is free recreation zone with the walking area, parks, schools in nature with authentic sorts of greenery, meadows, flower gardens etc., while on the other part are objects for hard and free sport playing.

For that purpose the Sport Centre “Jezero” was built and put in use in 1979., with the goal to satisfy the needs of sport playing, recreation children sport, youth and citizens. The institution was formed by the community of Kikinda to manage and keep the built objects.

There are opened and closed swimming pools in the centre which were built for organizing the competitions of the highest level.

This pool program satisfies the need of 2000 visitors.

In this complex there are also: restaurant, locker rooms, sanitary facilities followed by economical zones.

In the closed area there are two swimming pools, and one of them is 25m x 33m with 2m deep, while the other is shallow and is made for the swimming school and playing and is 10m x 14m with sloping bottom of 40-80cm.

On the open there are three swimming pools:

–          The Olympic 25m x50mx 2m
–          The Middle 25m x 20m x 1,20m
–          The Small ( so-called splashing) 12m x 12m x 40cm

The object of universal sports hall was put by the north part of the existing hall. In this object there is a big hall and trim cabinet with under stands space.

In the universal hall on north-east side there is the complex of yards for the small sports, as well as two stadiums and one of them has athletic track.

Near all this was built the stand as well as the under stand with locker rooms, bathrooms, offices and large warehouse.

Except all this there is also a complex of 6 tennis courts, and youth village with 200 beds, so it can accept all kinds of sportsmen.

Around all this objects there is a lawn with surface of 9 to 10ha which is regularly maintained.

By the decision of the founder in 2000. it got one more sports object known as “Partizan”, which is situated in the very centre of town. It is full in content with a big and small hall, fitness centre and offices for the clubs, with bathrooms and sanitary facilities in the ground floor, as well as on the floor where is also the big hall with the bathrooms and sanitary facilities. Many clubs found their position there.
