CULTURAL CENTER – Kikinda

The Cultural Center Kikinda, as an institution of special importance for the city in shaping its cultural scene, was established for the purpose of:

– preparing and implementing cultural, educational, and entertainment programs;

– carrying out activities not covered by the work, programs, and activities of other institutions established for that purpose within the Municipality of Kikinda;

– encouraging and promoting creativity;

– supporting the preparation and implementation of projects and activities within its field of work;

– organizing events, concerts, exhibitions, panel discussions, seminars, and similar activities;

– coordinating and aligning cultural activities and events with other institutions.

The activities of the Cultural Center Kikinda include:

– artistic and literary creation;

– publishing books, brochures, magazines, music editions, and other publications;

– performing arts;

– gallery activities;

– alternative education;

– advertising and promotional services.

Among the most important programs implemented by the Cultural Center Kikinda are the publication of the literary magazine Severni Bunker, the children’s magazine Kikindijanci, and the monthly cultural guide Kikinda Cultural Guide; the organization of the international music festival Refuse/Resist and the annual guitar festival Ki-Rock; children’s events such as Zmaj Children’s Games and Welcome to Spring; the organization of the Underwater Film Festival; and the awarding of the literary and visual arts prize Miroslav Antić, among others.

In addition to the satellite department of the Lower Ballet School from Novi Sad and the Youth Office of the Municipality of Kikinda, the Cultural Center also hosts, free of charge and using its resources, two Roma dance groups, the German association “Kikinda,” the literary association “Duško Trifunović,” the mountaineering society “Kinđa,” the children’s theater “Lane,” the drama section of the Gymnasium, and informal schools of Norwegian, Hungarian, and German languages, among others.
