HOUSE OF TRADITIONAL CRAFTS – Senta
Početna / Experiences / HOUSE OF TRADITIONAL CRAFTS – Senta
The House of Traditional Crafts was opened in 1998 by Árpád Pece. The collection spans 500 m² across two family houses. The entire yard, attic, garage, and both houses have been converted into exhibition space, which has welcomed visitors for 23 years. The museum houses over 10,000 exhibits, including numerous tools, space for 20 traditional workshops, and all material heritage from now-disappeared farms.
Visitors can learn traditional production methods: in the rope-making workshop they can try making ropes; in the tailoring workshop, they can use an old sewing machine; and in the blacksmith’s workshop, they can experience horseshoeing and work with historical blacksmith tools. The objects on display were used by people during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The collection was gathered from Kikinda and Senta, extending to Novi Sad and Bački Vinogradi.
