“ŽARKO ZRENJANIN” PUBLIC CITY LIBRARY – Zrenjanin
The City Public Library “Žarko Zrenjanin” is located in the very center of the city, in a building dating back to 1882. Although it was not originally built for this purpose, it has served as the home for a collection of over 150,000 books across several departments (Children’s Department, Lending Department, Scientific Department, Local History Department, Book Club, Publishing Activities, and Bookbinding Workshop).
This relocation took place in 1967, after the building near the Small Bridge, where the library had previously been located, was demolished. Among its rich holdings, the library also preserves true rarities.
