CITY HALL – Zrenjanin
Početna / Experiences / CITY HALL – Zrenjanin
Baroque Town Hall was built in 1820 according to the project of an architect Josip Fiser. Later on, in 1887, a sidelong wing was built in neo-baroque style and the complete reconstruction of the building was performed by the architects Djula Partos and Eden Lehner. This building has always been the seat of municipal administration. Besides the political meetings, diverse artistic programme, concerts and literary evenings take place in its ceremonial hall. A symmetrical staircase takes to this hall. There is a unique Pantelic’s clock from 1902 in the lobby in front of the hall. You can also see the lavish stained glasses that represent Power, Justice and Wisdom. Painted walls and stucco decorations are the works of an artist from Zrenjanin, Jozef Gojgner. In front of the Town Hall, there is a hundred-year old yew tree, which represents the landmark of Zrenjanin along with the Town Hall.
