TRG SVETOG TROJSTVA – Sombor
The Square of the Holy Trinity was named after the stone monument dedicated to the Holy Trinity placed on the central part of the Square in 1774, as the sign of gratitude for ending of one of the numerous plague epidemics at that time. This monument is a classical baroque statue consisted of elegant, gracious and tall pillar with the sculpture of the Holy Trinity on the top. During its removal from the Square in 1947, the monument was damaged. Therefore, nowadays, the citizens of Sombor call this square “Bald Square”.
