CULTURAL CENTER “ZRENJANIN” – Zrenjanin
Početna / Experiences / CULTURAL CENTER “ZRENJANIN” – Zrenjanin
The Zrenjanin Cultural Center was founded in 1978 under the name “Youth House.” During its first decade, programs aimed at the youth population dominated, primarily concerts of popular, pop, and rock music. All the major bands from the former SFRY that ever performed in Zrenjanin used the Cultural Center’s Large Hall, unique in the city. The film program also held an important place among the Center’s activities, and these programs were complemented by high-quality hospitality services.
Amid the rise of private initiatives in organizing entertainment programs and hospitality services, the institution changed its approach, turning to audiences of all ages and diversifying its program content. On the twentieth anniversary of its founding, in 1998, the new program content was formalized with an official name change—the Youth House became the Zrenjanin Cultural Center.
Today, the Cultural Center organizes theater, film, children’s, exhibition, music, and educational forum programs equally, with the institution’s uniqueness reflected in the multidimensionality of its cultural offerings.
The Zrenjanin Cultural Center building, with approximately 5,000 square meters of space, is a unique cultural institution not only in Zrenjanin but in Serbia as a whole. The central space is a large hall with a capacity of 550 to 1,000 people. In addition, there are five smaller multifunctional halls, offices, hospitality areas, and a courtyard amphitheater.
