CULTURAL CENTER VRŠAC – Vršac

CULTURAL CENTER VRŠAC – Vršac

Cultural Center Vršac is a cultural institution founded by the Municipal Assembly of Vršac (2003). It was established with the aim of exploring the cultural market of the South Banat region, which forms the basis for the development of cultural offerings. Cultural Center Vršac addresses the basic cultural needs of the local population within the Vršac municipality and serves as a central cultural institution that develops a wide range of artistic creation by individuals and groups, as well as presenting their work to the public.

In addition to this primary activity, Cultural Center Vršac organizes and coordinates the work of cultural and artistic societies and folklore groups in the municipality of Vršac. It is also the organizer or co-organizer of all major city public events (MFF VRŠAČKI VENAC, GRAPE HARVEST FESTIVAL, VRŠAC CULTURAL SUMMER, CITY DAY, etc.). Another very important aspect of the Center’s work is actively encouraging local cultural production through systematic engagement with specific target groups, primarily children and youth. Besides educational programs, the Center, through its Contemporary Gallery, also promotes the professional art scene and high-quality programs aimed at cultivating a discerning audience, providing them with the experience necessary to recognize quality art.

Cultural Center Vršac produces or co-produces nearly 170 programs annually in collaboration with individuals and other institutions, covering all fields of culture, art, and general cultural activities. In addition to programs presented in the Center’s venues and public spaces throughout the city, it is equally active in the virtual space and on social media, where it has successfully internationalized its audience. The team at Cultural Center Vršac, led by Director Davor Stojković, is ready to take on any challenge and continually innovate its approach to audiences. This has resulted in a dedicated following, particularly during lockdowns, when the Center was the first to find new ways to make cultural content accessible to the public. It was the first to introduce live stream programs, a 3D gallery, and online guided tours through 3D exhibitions.
