MILITARY INSTITUTION “MOROVIĆ” – Morović

The Military Institution “Morović” is situated in the far south-west of Vojvodina, about 110 km away from Belgrade (by motorway), on the border with Croatia. If you set out from the border with The Republic of Croatia in the direction of Belgrade, after you reach the first kilometer turn right and keep driving for another kilometer and you will find yourself at the catering and tourist facility MI “Morović”.

The complex “Morović” has at its possession 2.850 hectares of forest.

„Morović”, with its wide surroundings, is characterized as an object with great potential for hunting tourism. Apart from European deer and fallow deer, which prevail in these hunting grounds, here one can also hunt roe, hog and rabbit, and the swampy terrain offers the ideal ambience for swamp birds, among which wild duck dominates.

“Morović” with its wider surroundings possesses a huge potential in fishing tourism as well, because apart from two rivers – Studva and Bosut, there exists a number of canals, swamps and two fishponds, which are surrounded by forest. The riverbanks of Bosut and Studva are ideal for sport fishing. During the 1970s even a competition on the European level was held here. There are two fishponds in this area. One is in the possession of the Military Institution “Morović”, it is the one which naturally renews itself and is used only for sport fishing. And the other is in the ownership of JP “Vojvodinašume”.

The catering and tourist facility MI “Morović” consists of Villa “Srna” with 8 beds and Villa “Košuta” with 26 beds, as well as five bungalows with four beds each.

To fulfill the picture of an ideal place for rest and recreation MI “Morović” also maintains the green surfaces sports fields and lap tracks suitable for many sorts of recreation. The colorful surroundings, vast forests and the fishpond provide pleasant atmosphere during going for a walk, during hunting, fishing and coach riding. MI” Morović” organizes excursions and tours to the surrounding cultural-historical and religious facilities.
