MOUNTAINEERING CLUB “ŽELEZNIČAR” – Novi Sad
Mountaineering club “Železničar” Novi Sad was founded on the 18 April 1951. The club is formed for the purpose of saving the environment and recreation of its members. The club now has about 600 members. Most of the members are active on a regular weekly recreatonally hike in action “Pešačimo u prirodi” (Pedestrians in nature).
The club is founder of major hikings event – Mountaineering marathon on Fruska Gora.
The club has a mountain lodge at Popovica, on Fruska gora mountain. The home has a kitchen, dining room for 40 visitors is heated with tiled stove and 2 rooms with 10 beds. The home has electricity, water, toilets, home permanent venue +381 (0)21 463 205, mobile +381 (0)63 802 4532, a terrace with a view of Novi Sad. The lodge can be reached by public bus No74, that departs from the railway station of Novi Sad.
