KRAI MANOR HOUSE – MUSEUM OF BAČKA TOPOLA – Bačka Topola

The City Museum of Bačka Topola is located in the former Baronial Krai Manor House, the first two-story house in the municipality, built in 1802 by order of Baron Pál Krai. Today, the building is a cultural monument of special significance. The ground floor houses a gallery and a wedding hall, while the upper floor contains the museum and the Local History Archive.

The museum features several permanent exhibitions: an art display of works by local artists; a local history and literary collection of books and documents; a biological exhibit with a diorama of the Krivaja Valley, a collection of insects, and rare plant species; an archaeological display with finds from prehistory to the Middle Ages; and a historical exhibition showing the development of the town from 1750 onward. Particularly notable are the memorial rooms dedicated to Hadži Janoš, a physician and parliamentarian who devoted his life to the advancement of Bačka Topola, and to the scientist and traveler Balint Fernbah, a renowned explorer of Africa.

The museum is open on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The entrance fee is 250 dinars.
