FOOTBALL STADIUM – Inđija

The stadium is one of the objects with the longest sports tradition in Srem and Vojvodina. It is situated nearby the town center, right next to the railway station and the highway Belgrade – Subotica – Budapest. It has been the center of football, but also all the other sport events in the town.

Right after the establishment of FK “Železničar”, the precursor of current FK “Indjija”, the pitch was enclosed and the wooden scaffold covered by roof with the capacity of 600 places was built. The locker rooms in the area of the pitch were built only in 1962. The stadium got its current look in 2006.

Last year the project for building the new stadium was presented. It is supposed to be built on the location of “Leje of Indjija”, and it is supposed to have the capacity of 9.000 places. Taking into consideration all the perspectives for the development of Indjija and all the needs and expectations of the sportsmen, it is thought that the new stadium will fulfill all the demands and ambitions, once it is finished.
