Početna / Experiences / MUNICIPAL ADMINISTRATION BUILDING – Inđija
The construction of the Building of the Municipal Government started in 1911 and it was finished in 1914. According to an original plan, the building was designed for the purposes of municipal government, district government and district court of law. However, since it was finished during the World War I, it was used for the accommodation of wounded soldiers. After the war, shops, craft workshops and post office were situated on the ground-floor, namely, in the wing facing a hotel and library. Municipal administration was placed on the first floor. The west wing of the building was used as a residential area. From 1948 to 1953, the Federal Institute of Statistics worked in this building, while the municipal services were moved to a building in Vojvoda Stepa Street, near the town market.
