Danube Festival Caravan Initiative within the CAST Project
The Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina has joined the implementation of the international initiative “Danube Festival Caravan”, organized within the CAST project – “Culture trAnSforming communiTies and economies”. The Caravan connects festivals along the Danube with the aim of promoting cultural diversity, sustainable tourism, and strengthening cooperation among local communities across the Danube Region.
Through the Danube Festival Caravan, visitors have the opportunity to discover authentic cultural events, traditions, gastronomy, and natural beauty across various destinations connected by the Danube River. The project focuses on festivals that contribute to preserving local identity and creating new cultural and tourism experiences.
As part of the activities in Vojvodina, two events in Sremski Karlovci have been included in the Danube Festival Caravan:
- Kult Fest – a festival that brings together audiences of different generations through music, art, and contemporary cultural content, promoting creativity and cultural energy
- Fruška Walk & Wine – a unique event combining hiking through the nature of Fruška Gora with wine culture and local gastronomy, offering an authentic experience of Vojvodina
The Danube Festival Caravan serves as a platform connecting festivals and cultural stakeholders from several countries of the Danube Region, with the shared idea of culture becoming a driver of sustainable development, cooperation, and the creation of new tourism experiences. Through programme exchange, promotion, and networking, the project contributes to greater international visibility of local events and festivals.
