THE CHURCH OF ST. MARKO (VODICA) – Novi Karlovci

At the exit of the highway interchange E -75 on the Corridor 10, near Novi Karlovci there is the church dedicated to St. Mark the Apostle. A small fountain is built above the wellspring and a small chapel in front of it. It is believed that it represents a wellspring of healing water. The chapel was built in 1883, as the nave building with two-story bell- tower which is added to the chapel. The Pilasters executed in mortar half-plastic divided the facade into five segments. At each fasade there is one two-winged window. On the south side there is the front door. In the reddish marble board walled in the western wall there is an engraved text that gives information about the founder and the construction period.

The church was consecrated on the Mark’s Day in 1884, when the liturgy is served and the village feast is held simultaneously. At the ginning of 2011 this religious building was proclaimed the monastery.
