“ŠTRAND” CITY BEACH – Novi Sad

Štrand is Novi Sad’s most popular city beach, developed and opened to visitors as early as 1911. Today, it resembles a small town stretching along 700 metres of sandy shoreline on the banks of the Danube.

For the people of Novi Sad, owning a beach cabin at Štrand is a matter of pride, and spending the summer there socialising and relaxing with friends is a cherished tradition. The beach is especially popular with children and families, thanks to its wide range of recreational and entertainment facilities.

One of the most beautiful beaches on the Danube, Štrand is fully equipped with all the infrastructure needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Visitors can choose from numerous cafés and restaurants, while sports enthusiasts have access to playgrounds and courts for activities such as beach volleyball and headis (head tennis), a sport believed to have originated right here on Štrand.

During the summer months, Štrand becomes one of the liveliest places in Novi Sad, hosting a wide variety of sporting events, cultural programmes and entertainment.
