The “SIRMIUMART” Cultural Center was founded in 1972 as a cultural institution that brought together the musical and poetic activities that had previously existed in Sremska Mitrovica.
The main activity of “SIRMIUMART” is the organization and development of musical, stage, and poetic activities for young people through the work of its organizational units, the provision of professional and technical services for the realization of programs aimed at developing cultural and artistic creativity and entertainment life, the implementation of concert activities through guest performances and in-house productions, the organization of literary evenings, publishing activities, and more.
Today, around 300 amateurs are active within “SIRMIUMART” across several organizational units: the folklore ensemble “Branko Radičević,” the recitation studio “Kaliopa,” the tamburitza orchestra “Srem,” and the folk orchestra. The Center also includes a synthesizer school and the children’s drama studio “Ars.”
All organizational units participate in reviews and festivals where they achieve outstanding results and receive numerous awards.
The qualification structure of the employees is satisfactory, as it corresponds to the program needs of the Center. Out of 12 employed staff members, those fully and actively involved in professional work include the director, program editor, heads of organizational units, and technical staff.
Throughout the year, the “SIRMIUMART” Cultural Center, with its programs, is one of the most important contributors to the cultural life of the city. In addition to continuous work with children and young amateurs and organizing events marking important dates and anniversaries in the city, we also organize a large number of concerts. Within our activities, we also host art exhibitions, literary gatherings, and musical-poetic evenings.
