Jazak Monastery with its church dedicated to the Holy Trinity was founded in 1736. The construction of the church, following traditional architectural forms in both plan and building methods, lasted from 1736 to 1758. The Baroque bell tower added to the western side was completed at the beginning of the 19th century. The monastery residential buildings (konaks), surrounding the church on three sides, were built between 1736 and 1761. The icons on the Baroque iconostasis were painted in 1769 by Dimitrije Bačević with collaborators. A major reconstruction of the monastery was carried out from 1926 to 1930.
About two kilometers from the present Jazak Monastery lie the remains of the Old Jazak Monastery, which, according to tradition, was built at the end of the 15th century by Despot Jovan Branković. From 1705, the relics of Emperor Uroš were kept there. In 1736, the construction of the new monastery began, and in 1741 Patriarch Arsenije IV Jovanović Šakabenta converted the old monastery into a convent. The church of the new monastery is dedicated to the Descent of the Holy Spirit, celebrated on Pentecost.
