ETHNO HOUSE ”SDAR” – Dolovo
Početna / Experiences / ETHNO HOUSE ”SDAR” – Dolovo
The Ethno House SDAR is an example of the heritage and household of a traditional Vojvodina family. It is located in the village of Dolovo, near Pančevo. At the time when the village was developing, it bore the number 3, which suggests that it may have been the third house built in the settlement. It was constructed in 1725 and is owned by the Stajić family.
Thanks to its last descendant, Đorđe Stajić, the house was given a new purpose and brought back to life. He succeeded in presenting, at least in part, what the culture of living was like from the late 18th to the 20th century.
The house was built using rammed earth and originally covered with reed. It is believed that the hearth originated in the central part of the house (which has been preserved), and that the structure later expanded. It was partially restored, with the reed roof replaced by tiles in 1850. To this day, authentic elements of household items and economic heritage have been preserved inside. Other buildings in the courtyard are also between 100 and 300 years old.
