Ethno House “Brvnara” in Bački Jarak is located near the center of the village, on the main road. The County museum collection of ethno – historical character was created on the initiative of residents of Bačka Jarak ,the colonists from Bosanska Krajina. The idea of its establishment came into existence in 1946, aspiring to preserve the memories of the homeland. The building was built in 1978.
Ethno house consists of a main building – chalet, in which the ethnological part of the permanent exhibition is located. The social and cultural life of the people of Bosanska Krajina has been presented there: A small building with a window for young couples, „ajat“-„ mlechar” for holding and storing both milk and dairy products as well as the corn storing barn are still in the yard. All three buildings are authentic, brought from the old homeland and constructed in the same way as was used to be done. The facilities are embedded in space in such a way that the main building consists of an authentic ambience of Krajina yard with housing and auxiliary facilities.
