Početna / Experiences / CULTURAL CENTER “VRBAS” – Vrbas
In the center of Vrbas, on the site of the former Cultural Hall that burned down in 1992, construction of a new theater began the same year. The building covers 3,534.31 m², including a basement, ground floor, first floor, and gallery. In addition to the theater, the building was designed to include a disco club in the basement and commercial spaces on the ground and first floors. The area dedicated to the theater itself occupies 2,895 m² across the basement, ground floor, first floor, and gallery. The main hall with stage is planned to have 520 seats, accompanied by a theater club, rehearsal rooms, and dressing rooms. Although unfinished, the “Theater under Construction” has hosted various cultural events to attract attention and support from those willing to help complete the building, ultimately providing the citizens of Vrbas with a cultural hub that gathers and spreads positive impulses.
Within the Cultural Center operates a Fine Arts Gallery, responsible both for promoting Vrbas’s local artists and for presenting works by artists from across Serbia and abroad. Over the past thirty years, around 400 exhibitions have been held in Vrbas, attracting approximately 350,000 visitors. The gallery hosts two traditional annual events: the Autumn Art Salon, featuring works by Vrbas artists, and the Young Palette, showcasing works by young painters from the countries of the former Yugoslavia.
