THE TEMPLE OF SAINT PROPHET ELIJAH – Stara Pazova
It is recorded that this old church was rebuilt in 1797 but its construction dates from 1760 when first Serbian families arrived in area of Stara Pazova. Today’s church was consecrated in 1827and services began in 1828. The building is in the Baroque style and there is an important collection of service books dating from the 19th century. Near the church there is a ‘water chapel’ dating from 1797 and dedicated to St. Ilija. It is the only water chapel situated in populated place in Srem and it is still used.
