“DANIJEL VLADISLAV” CASTLE – Konak

“DANIJEL VLADISLAV” CASTLE – Konak

When traveling from Zrenjanin toward Vršac and entering the village of Konak, about one hundred meters before the bridge over the Brzava River, on the left side, you will find Danijel Castle.

The castle in Konak was built by Count Vladislav Danijel in 1884. Alongside the main building, which served as the residence of the landowner, a smaller building was constructed for clerks and servants, while more distant were the economic structures: stables, barns, and the like. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful park with rare trees of various exotic species, covering several hectares.

Today, the castle houses the ‘Vuk Karadži’ elementary school, while the economic buildings contain apartments for teachers and other school staff. The castle and its surrounding park are well preserved. Danijel Castle is a cultural monument of great importance. The park of Danijel Vladislav Castle is a protected natural monument.

The castle is open to visitors!
