CULTURAL CENTER – Novi Bečej

The Municipality of Novi Bečej established the Workers’ Home “Jovan Veselinov Žarko,” which was built in 1976. In 2004, by merging the Cultural Center “Marija Pajić” of Novo Miloševo with the Workers’ Home, it received a new name: the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Novi Bečej.

The Cultural Center provides facilities for film screenings, artistic and literary creation, organizes fairs, offers advertising and promotional services, and publishes books, brochures, other publications, and audio magazines.

Within the institution, there is a branch of the Lower Music School “Slobodan Malbaški” from Kikinda – piano and accordion department, an Amateur Theater, and folklore sections including: the Roma Folklore Association “Romano Ilo,” the City Folklore Association “Bećarac,” the Cultural-Artistic Society “Banat,” as well as a Ballet Section led by Jovana Cavnić from Novi Sad.

Throughout the year, the Cultural Center organizes classical music concerts, open-air concerts, theater performances, children’s shows, film screenings, and cultural-educational exhibitions.

The institution is funded partly through local community contributions, municipal budget allocations from the Novi Bečej Municipal Assembly, its own revenue (tickets, rentals), and donations.

Working hours: Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM; weekends only for pre-announced events or groups.
