CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL CENTRE “VUK KARADŽIĆ” – Plandište

Cultural and Educational Center “Vuk Karadžić” from Plandište is the basic institution of culture that in its work has three strategic objectives: animation, creation and diffusion of artistic and cultural creativity of the local community on a nonprofit basis.
Cultural and Educational Center (KOC) was established on April 03, 1997 with quite modest initial frame of work, but it has quickly and considerably expanded its activities, so that today it has the following program orientation: External programs; Cultural and educational programs; Musical and theatrical programs; Film programs; The programs of visual arts (art programs); Literary programs; Programs of cultural heritage.
The center has a modern hall for showing films and organizing various events, with stage, stalls and balcony, capacity of 347 seats, small hall suitable for organizing business, entertainment, and other public and private gatherings.
For the cultural calendar of events KOC organizes every year, or periodically, different events: Municipal festival of children’s music and folklore creativity (March – April), Municipal festival of folk ensembles (April – May), Festival of the Krajina songs “Borders pearls” (May – June) , Multimedia Easter salon (includes art exhibition, an exhibition of folk creativity, poetry and musical performances). Since 2002 the celebration of the city feast Saint Raphael of Banat (29 August), New Year’s Eve in the town square, displaying the current film productions in cooperation with OKC Sečanj have been organized.
