CHARDA “PLAVI DUNAV” – Futog
Početna / Experiences / CHARDA “PLAVI DUNAV” – Futog
At the end of 2005, a new Carda (Tavern) was opened in Futog. Its name “Plavi Dunav” (Blue Danube) suites it perfectly, especially during sunny summer days. A beautiful view of the Danube stretches from the upper terrace of Carda. It encompasses an area of almost 20 km, from Banostor to Sremska Kamenica. You can clearly see the Srem bank of the Danube near Beocin, just across Carda. On the Backa bank, near Carda, there is the jetty of the ferry that takes travelers and vehicles across the Danube to Beocin. “Plavi Dunav” represents the refreshment for eyes and lungs, but also culinary experience for the guests. Besides a delicious fish stew, a great variety of fried fish is offered, as well. In the competition with the most distinguished dishes that are served in the cardas along the Danube, we emphasize a dish made of diverse river fish, which is named after this Carda and it represents its gastronomic flagship. Sea fish dishes are also prepared for Carda. We offer a great variety of dishes made of fish and seafood. Carda is situated on the bank of the Danube in Futog, on the other side of a dike. It has settled in the shade of old willows that provide shade and coolness. Carda is visited by people from Futog, Novi Sad, and other places. It has a hall with a capacity of 80 seats and a terrace with 100 seats. The performance of a tamburitza band has to be prearranged. There is also a car park for 50 vehicles and moorings for boats.
