Study visit to the Tourism Organisation of the Municipality of Kovin

As part of its activities aimed at strengthening cooperation with local tourism organizations and assessing the tourism potential of destinations across Vojvodina, the Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina conducted a field visit to the Municipality of Kovin on 22 July.

The first part of the visit was dedicated to a working meeting with representatives of the Tourism Organisation of the Municipality of Kovin. Milivoj Kovačević, Acting Director of the Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina, and Miodrag Zlatanović, Director of the Tourism Organisation of the Municipality of Kovin, together with their associates, discussed the current state of the municipality’s tourism offer, its development potential, as well as opportunities for enhancing tourism products and strengthening joint promotional activities. Special attention was given to the development of nautical, active and religious tourism, as well as to the valorisation of the area’s natural and cultural resources.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited the municipality’s most important tourism sites, including the Deliblato Sands Special Nature Reserve – Čardak Excursion Area, the Kraljevac Special Nature Reserve, the Danube marina, Šljunkara Lake recreational area, the Danube River model, as well as the Romanian Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church. During the visit, discussions focused on the existing visitor facilities, current management challenges and opportunities for the further tourism development of these sites.

Field visits of this kind play an important role in identifying the development needs of local destinations and defining activities that contribute to the improvement of the tourism offer. Direct insight into local conditions and close cooperation with local partners provide a solid basis for planning future initiatives and further strengthening Vojvodina’s position as a diverse and competitive tourism destination.
