Working Visit to the Tourism Organisation of Sombor

On August 14, a field visit to the Tourism Organisation of Sombor took place in order to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences in the development and promotion of Vojvodina’s tourism offer.

The first part of the visit was dedicated to discussions with representatives of the Tourism Organisation of Sombor. A working meeting was held at the organisation’s offices, providing an opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas on further enhancing of the tourism offer. Milivoj Kovačević, Acting Director of the Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina, and Jovan Uzelac, Acting Director of the Tourism Organisation of Sombor, together with their colleagues, discussed current challenges, opportunities for developing new tourism products, and the importance of joint promotional activities aimed at increasing the visibility of the destination.

Following the working meeting, a tour of the most significant cultural and historical landmarks and natural sites in the city of Sombor was organised. The tour included the Štrand City Beach, ”Andrić” Riverside Fish Restaurant (Čarda), Heroes’ Park, the County Administration Building, the Karlo Bijelicki City Library, as well as the urban sculptures of Sava Stojkov, Ernest Bošnjak and Laza Kostić. The visit provided an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the area’s rich heritage, the existing visitor facilities and attractions, as well as the potential for their further development and integration into the tourism offer.

With its unique combination of cultural heritage and natural assets, Sombor represents an important part of Vojvodina’s tourism offer. Such visits facilitate the direct exchange of knowledge and experience, foster stronger connections with local partners, and create opportunities for exploring new ways to further develop and promote destinations.
