Representatives of the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina participated in the kick-off meeting of the CAST project (Culture trAnSforming communiTies and economies), held on June 4 and 5, 2025, in Višnja Gora, Slovenia. The event brought together partners from 11 European countries with the aim of fostering connections and joint efforts to strengthen cultural identity and sustainable tourism.
The partners had the opportunity to get to know each other through interactive workshops and to present their pilot projects in a “speed dating” format, encouraging collaboration and exchange of experiences.
In addition to the working sessions, participants visited several examples of good practice – an educational beehive, the Rogelj beekeeping farm, and the tourist village of Pristava – further contributing to the understanding of local potential for sustainable tourism development.
On the second day of the event, the Mayor of the Municipality of Ivančna Gorica addressed the partners, followed by workshops focused on defining shared goals and competencies, as well as preparing indicators to monitor the project’s impact. Special attention was given to communication activities and planning the next steps and meetings.
The meeting concluded with a study visit to the birthplace of the renowned Slovenian writer Josip Jurčič, further emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural heritage as a foundation for tourism development.
By participating in this event, the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina is actively contributing to international cooperation in the fields of tourism and culture, aiming to develop innovative and sustainable approaches to promoting local identities.
