THE SUMMER MAGIC OF VOJVODINA, BATHING SPOTS AS OASES TO COOL OFF

Vojvodina, recognizable for its vast plains, rich cultural heritage, and hospitality, offers numerous opportunities to relax and enjoy the summer months. Bathing areas on river banks and lake shores stand out and represent true oases of refreshment and entertainment for people of all ages.

As one of Europe’s most important rivers for tourism, the Danube is ideal for sailing and water sports. The Danube beaches in Apatin, Bačka Palanka, and Novi Sad are favorites among the local population, and they increasingly attract the attention of foreign visitors. You can combine your vacation with cycling or other activities. To take a breather during your trip, you can enjoy the gastronomic specialties in one of the numerous csárda (traditional taverns) located along the course of this river.

The Tisa is a calm and elegantly winding river. In one of its meanders, you can seek protection from the summer heat or simply enjoy the colors of nature. In the early summer days, a unique emergence and mating of mayflies on the Tisa River occurs here, known as the the Tisza blooming. The beaches in Kanjiža, Senta, Ada, and Čurug (on the Stara Tisa) are the perfect place to cool off on hot summer days.

A part of the Srem course of the Sava River is recognizable and interesting in many ways, thanks to the Obedska Bara and Zasavica reserves. Also, on this part of the stream, you can find nice spots to cool off and numerous facilities at the City Beach, known as Brioni in Sremska Mitrovica.

Favorite localities in the summer include the peaceful Pannonian oases, that is, the lakes of Vojvodina, which offer numerous opportunities for respite. Lake Palić is a popular tourist destination, even though swimming in the lake is not allowed, offering various recreational activities on the lake and in its vicinity (sailing, catamaran, pedal boat rides, renting bicycles) contributing to its popularity.  The Bela Crkva lakes in the south of Banat  are known for recreation, water sports, and bathing activities. Seven lakes, with beautiful sandy and pebble beaches, represent the tourist gem of the Banat region. Regarding tourist attractions, the main lake, Vračevgaj Lake and Šljunkara stand out. An ideal summer destination is the Zobnatica Lake, in the municipality of Bačka Topola, with a very accessible beach. You can also visit the nearby windmill and stud farm during your stay at this lake. You can relax in the hot days ahead at one of the lakes of the Fruška gora or Lake Provala near the town of Vajska, in the municipality of Bač. It is important to note that there are no lifeguards on most of the listed lakes, so visitors bathing are responsible should take this into account and bathe responsibly.

The lovers of active vacation can opt for some of the aqua parks, such as Petroland Bački Petrovac, Aqua Park Palić, or the newly opened aqua park Sand City in Deliblato Sands, where you will enjoy an unforgettable vacation filled with adventure.

As the pace of modern life is getting faster and harder to keep up with, there is a need for relaxation and focus on health, especially under the watchful eye of experts in spa centers with medicinal waters. One of the suggestions is Vrdnik Termal, a spa with thermal water, a constant temperature of 32.8°C at the source, and a minimum of 29°C in the indoor pools on winter days. In the northwest of Vojvodina, 4.5 km away from Apatin and the Danube, on the very edge of a beautiful forest, there is Junaković Spa, which, in terms of water quality is in the same category as the waters of the world-famous spas in Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic) and Harkány(Hungary).
